SO WHY DO YOU NEED A LIST?

The answer to this depends on whether you intend to eke out a living on the internet or take it by storm and look for the real profits. For the purposes of this discussion I am going to assume you want to make a good living on the internet.

All businesses need to gain leads so they can improve their revenue by making more sales. If you have a something to sell be it a product or a servicethen you will need to keep improving your sales tpo remain profitable. Several tools are employed to keep the momentum going and generate business leads

No doubt you have heard the expression the money is in the list. So building your list is one of the most important things you can do for your online business. The bigger the list the bigger the benefits. This is because each member of your list is worth on average $1 per month to you.

A productive list can mean profits you have only dreamed of in the past.

An effective list building campaign can bring in 15 to 20 new subscribers per day. That is 500 plus per month or 6000 per year. Could you use a raise of $500 a month?

Also keep in mind the prospective customer will probably need to see item at least seven times before making a desicion to buy. If you have your own list you can target the prospects as many times as you like within reason.

How do you get subscribers?

First of all you need to establish a niche for yourself. I say a niche but of course you could establish any number of niches. Keep to the one topic in each niche and remember to keep each niche in a seperate list. Now you will have a ready made targeted audience to put your sales in front of. Remember these subscibers signed up because they were interested in what you had in your niche.

You will need to create a targeted website for each niche you intend to become involved in. Make sure each of these sites has relevant content. You need to give people a reason th come to your site. The easiest way to do this is by finding information about you niche that is not always readily available.

If you can provide some free articles or information and also some free relevant downloads on your site this will increase your traffic and you will get more referrals.

Each page on your website needs to include a signup box. you could even offer a free bonus if they signup. If people go from page to page on your website and like what they see but cannot see a signup box you could risk losing a valuble customer

Develop your own squeeze page and market it exclusively. All of your marketing efforts for that particular niche should be directed to the squeeze page. Provide plenty of bulleted points and make good use of headlines and bold colors, but do not go mad with this. You don't want the page to be so garish that it frightens people away. Don't forget the signup box.

As I mentioned at the beginning you will need an autoresponder in order to maintain your list. There are several ways you can go with this but if you look at the page we have on autoresponders this will point you in the correct direction.

You will need to build a good relationship with your list members. Send tham plenty of free stuff that is valuable, (or at least has a perceived value), and they will be more willing to look at your paid offers. When you do promote something to your list make sure it is a quality item, and also include your own free bonus to further increase the value of the item. Never promote anything you do not or would not pay for and use yourself.

A word of warning:

If you are going to be promoting affiliate programs or products then instead of promoting your affiliate link, build a squeeze page and promote that instead. This way if the potential customer doesn't buy the product they will have joined your list and not the list of the affiliate program owner.

Using these techniques will put you on the road to financial freedom by helping you build a large and profitable list.

Creative ways to build your List:

You can of course also increase your list by using EMAIL ADVERTISING. With this you need a very strong headline (to get the reader to open the email) followed by a free offer in the text of the email. Of course they only get the free offer when they sign up to your list.

As there are so many free offers available at the moment another ploy you can use is to offer a high priced product that you have pricing rights to, for a ridiculously low price. You could also put a time limit on buying at the discounted price. Not only will your list grow but you will also be making an income.

Another way to build your list is to join one of the many giveaways that are being promoted. To do this you will need a product that you have giveaway rights to.

If you have the savy an even better way is to run your own giveaway. With this type of promotion you don't just get the members that sign up for your item but you get every single member that signs up to the giveaway.

You could also start your own ezine or newsletter. This of course will take more preparation and upkeep as you will have to send your ezine/newsletter out on a regular basis.

If you become the admin of a safelist you will be able to email all of your members on a regular basis. As the admin you will be able to email their contact boxes as opposed to their list boxes.

You can also grow your list by using articles. Article Marketing is one of the cheapest and quickest ways to get your list going.

You write an article on a subject that you want to promote products in. You submit that article to one or more of the article submission sites. If someone uses that article in a newsletter or on their website it will be there with your resource box which you will need to point to your signup box for that particular niche.

The next day write and submit another article and keep doing this for as long as you can. The more articles you have in the submission sites the more chances you have of people using them on their websites or in their ezines/newsletters etc.

You can of course also set up your own affiliate program. For this you will need your own information product. Before you ssay I can't write well enough or I don't know what to write about think of this. You have information in your brain that other people would like to have also. Perhaps you have nursed a partner or parent or child. You may be a foster carer or have a penchant for exotic animals. There is always someone who knows less than you and is willing to pay to learn what you know.

With regards to the "I can't write" fear, if you can express yourself in speech then you can write. We are not going for an examination in perfect english language or grammer, but we are going for something that otherts can relate to. Once you have your product there are plenty of good cheap and possibly free affiliate scripts available.

Work your List:

Once your list has started to grow don't just sit back and hope for miracles. You need to keep updating your information on a regular basis. Keep your members informed about any changes you have made and keep a good lookout for any bargains you can grab to use for your members or to increase your membership.
